From the founding of the Holy Metropolis of Nevrokop until today, the Holy Metropolis is located in the center of the capital city of Nevrokop - the town of Gotse Delchev. In its original form, the building has not been preserved to this day.
In 1999, a fire destroyed almost the entire building. The very next year, Nevrokop Metropolitan Nathanael commissioned the design of a new building, bigger and more impressive. The architect of the building is arch. Dimov.
The activity continued for many years, but it was stopped due to the prolonged and serious illness of Bishop Nathanael, which broke him.

The new stage in construction continues with the arrival of his successor - Metropolitan Seraphim.
In 2014, inspired to continue the work of his predecessor, Metropolitan Seraphim assigned the design of the facades to arch. Georgi Vitanov.

In its essence and symbolism, this is an eternal material... just like the Orthodox tradition should be eternal on these lands. Working with this "heavy" material is not easy... my desire was to create a facade that appears light... to soar like lace.
"For two years, I developed several ideas for the appearance of the building. Every meeting with Metropolitan Seraphim was an inspiration and gave its result until we reached the final project which is already being implemented.
Realizing the responsibility assigned to me, I invited arch. Silvia Tsokova and arch. Radina Nikolova to be involved in the design and completion of the building.

In 2016 this project was an occasion and inspiration for our team to gather in this composition. When we were choosing a contractor, I didn't know who I would work with and how the work would proceed.
Already after the first meeting with the owner of Bulkam Decor - stone facades - Mr. Dimitar Georgiev, I knew that the project would be executed in the best possible way."
